Benefits of Home Additions

Home additions can be a great way to increase the amount of space in your home without having to move. If you are looking for more room, but don’t want to uproot your family from their current home, then a home addition is the perfect choice for you. Home additions offer homeowners an array of benefits that can make life easier and more convenient.

Adding extra living space is one of the main benefits of building a home addition. Homeowners can create any type of additional room they desire -whether it’s an office, bedroom, or playroom- giving them plenty of options when it comes to making their house feel larger and more comfortable. This is especially beneficial in cases where families have outgrown their current house but cannot afford or don’t want to purchase a larger one.

Room Expansion

When it comes to home additions, room expansion is a popular choice for many homeowners. It gives them the chance to increase their living area without having to sell and buy a larger property. Room expansion can be done using a variety of methods, depending on the size of the project and available resources.

One way to expand a room is by knocking down existing walls and combining two separate rooms into one large space. This method opens up an entire area for you to use however you wish. Another option is building onto your home with an addition that increases the space in your current layout. This allows you to customize the look, feel, and function of each additional room according to your own needs or preferences.

Floor Addition

Floor additions are becoming increasingly popular in the home improvement industry. Whether it’s for a new master suite, a family office, or simply to add more living space, homeowners can reap many benefits from adding an extra floor. Not only does it drastically increase the usable square footage of your home and investment value, but it also allows you to customize the interior design and layout of your property. Adding another story can be a great way to boost your home’s property value while creating more room for you and your family to enjoy.

Floor additions come with their own unique set of challenges. Depending on the type of structure you have in place, increasing the height may require additional support such as beams or posts. It also requires careful consideration of local zoning and building regulations before any work can begin.

Attic Conversions

Attic conversions are an increasingly popular way to add more living space to a home without having to move or build an addition. Not only can attic conversions create additional bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces, but they can also raise the value of your property significantly.

The process of converting an attic involves careful consideration of the insulation, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as installing necessary drywall and flooring. It is important that all safety regulations are adhered to in order for the conversion to be successful. Many homeowners find it beneficial to consult with a professional architectural designer who can advise on the best approach for their particular attic conversion project.

When done correctly, an attic conversion is a cost-effective solution that adds functionality as well as value to any home. With proper planning and preparation, you will have a beautiful new living area in no time!

Garage Conversion

The process of converting a garage usually involves stripping out any existing fixtures and fittings, and then adding insulation, double-glazing, and other features that will help the converted area become more energy efficient. Once complete, the space can be used for a variety of purposes including an extra bedroom, home office or children’s playroom. It can even be remodeled into additional living space such as a kitchen or dining room.

No matter what type of conversion you’re considering for your garage, it’s important to remember that if done correctly it can transform your home into something unique and valuable without breaking the bank in terms of cost.

Conclusion: Consider Home Additions

In conclusion, home additions can be a great way to add both value and space to your home. With so many options, it is easy to find something that fits your needs and budget. However, before undertaking any project, it is important to consider the costs associated with home additions and make sure the investment will be worthwhile. It is also essential to choose a reputable contractor who has experience in the type of addition you are planning as well as consulting with an architectural designer!

Our Process

We use a simple, 4 step process that helps streamline a project. This allows us to provide the best results while avoiding unnecessary complications. In addition, it helps us stay efficient in our work and creates a clear guideline for every project.

01
SITE STUDY/EXISTING CONDITIONS
We start with an understanding of your site and existing building (if applicable). This helps us understand what we're working with, and is what we like to call "gathering the facts".
02
SCHEMATIC DESIGN
We start an initial design based on your ideas and from our site study and/or existing conditions. We develop multiple options to see what is possible and have fun exploring values and possibilities with your design.
03
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
We continue revising the design until we get a desired result. This step can also be a good time to bid out the project to determine a preliminary cost. This can help prioritize specific design features.
04
FINAL DOCUMENTS
We determine a final design based on the previous steps. From the initial design, we develop a Construction Set that is complete for construction and necessary permitting.
